Screening Exams

Lung Screening

Reduce lung cancer death significantly with Low Dose CT Scans. Screen people at High-Risk for Lung Cancer.

Lung Screening Staten IslandIn November 2010, The National Cancer Institute (NCI) large-scale clinical trial results indicated that lung cancer deaths in high risk individuals were dramatically lower in the group screened by CT scans than those receiving a chest x-ray.

The results showed a 20% decrease in mortality from lung cancer in patients who were screened using low dose radiation technique… many experts are now saying this provides the new "gold standard" and it is available at Regional Radiology.

Regional Radiology is now offering this life saving test for $100.00.

Recommendations are indicated for any person who has smoked "30 pack years" (i.e. 1 pack per day for 30 years, 2 packs per day for 15 years, and so on).

Since most insurance companies do not cover this screening, this offer allows patients the benefit of the test without a large out of pocket expense. Patients wishing to have the exam will require a script for Low Dose CT Lung Screening from their physician.
